Today We

invest in better community health, one county at a time.

In 2017, Robeson County was ranked as the least healthy county in North Carolina.1 We’re committed to changing that.

Robeson County has high levels of poverty and a higher than average number of uninsured people in the state.2

For years, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) has supported the residents of Robeson County. Blue Cross NC, along with its Healthy Blue plan serving Medicaid beneficiaries, will help this commitment continue through a $775,000 investment to establish UNCP’s new Community and Wellness Institute of Southeastern NC.

The Institute will launch new university programs and expand upon existing community initiatives to transform the region’s health landscape by connecting the university, its students and its resources to the surrounding community.
